Not long after they arrive in Hanover, first-year students head out to spend time with their new classmates on trips that take place in and around New Hampshire. Activities range from hiking and mountain biking to performing community service and learning about the Dartmouth Organic Farm.
Photojournalist James Nachtwey ’70 has traveled the world documenting wars, natural disasters, and the human condition. The Hood Museum of Art has acquired his archive, which comprises more than half a million images, which Nachtwey hopes will help educate and inspire others. Here are just a few examples of his work.
