The Dartmouth Campus, by Sarah Adelman '19
With a bit more time on her hands while she's social distancing in New York City, Sarah Adelman '19 has been painting. One of her creations is a watercolor of Dartmouth's campus—an aerial view of Dartmouth Library's Baker-Berry Library and the Green, with trees and mountains on the horizon. She sent a photo of her painting to the Dartmouth Instagram account and gave us permission to share it.
After posting her painting on our channels, we started to receive other pieces of art from members of our community. Moriah Morton '17, a Milwaukee-based artist, sent a watercolor digital drawing of campus in the winter. Dorothy Qu '19, Guarini '21 shared digital drawings of the Hood Museum of Art, the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge, a map of campus, and a Van Gogh-esque Baker Tower. She's currently working toward her masters in computer science and digital arts. Caitlin Flint '16, a New Orleans-based artist, sent an ink drawing of the entrance to Carpenter Hall in the spring. Students, alumni, and community members have continued to submit works of Dartmouth-themed art across mediums.
If you've recreated a scene of Dartmouth's campus, we want to see it! Send photos or scans of drawings, paintings, digital art, or any other medium to [email protected]. We'll share some of our favorites on our social channels.
