The COVID-19 Task Force co-chairs shared details and related news in an update today.
The COVID-19 Task Force co-chairs this afternoon shared the news of New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu's announcement that starting on April 19, all Dartmouth community members age 16 and older, regardless of residence, will be eligible to register through the state's website for COVID-19 vaccinations.
In the community message sent to faculty, students, staff, and parents of undergraduates, Lisa Adams, a physician and a professor of medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine, and Josh Keniston, vice president of campus services and institutional projects, wrote that they are in contact with state and regional health officials about options for providing vaccinations on campus or nearby.
"We anticipate being able to provide information about these options by the end of next week," Adams and Keniston wrote.
Anyone who needs to schedule a second vaccine in New Hampshire can call 211 (from New Hampshire phone numbers) or 866-444-4211 (from out-of-state numbers).
Also next week, they will announce updated travel guidelines for students, faculty, and staff, the co-chairs added.
In the email, Adams and Keniston noted that employees and students had received emails from Occupational Medicine and Dick's House, respectively, with instructions on uploading their vaccination documentation, and urged them to do so.
"We encourage everyone to upload their vaccination records as soon as you have received your last dose. This means after the single dose for Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine or after the second dose for Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna," they wrote. "We will use this information about your vaccinations to determine our ability to adjust guidelines in the coming weeks."
The email from Occupational Medicine, which is partnering with Axiom Medical to manage employee vaccination records, included a link for voluntarily submitting completed vaccination information and providing consent to Dartmouth's limited use of that information.
Students received an email message this morning from Dick's House with instructions on where to submit their vaccination records if they haven't already.
In closing, the co-chairs urged the Dartmouth community to continue to follow safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control continues to discourage medium and large group gatherings, and encourages everyone, whether vaccinated or not, to continue the practice of wearing face masks and maintaining physical distance when in the company of others, and Dartmouth's policy continues to require these precautions," they wrote. "As always, thank you for helping to maintain the health and safety of our community."
