Alberto Quattrini Li, an assistant professor of computer science, is developing autonomous surface vehicles equipped with a suite of sensors to gather large volumes of physical, chemical, and biological data to help understand what’s causing cyanobacterial blooms on freshwater lakes.

Li’s research uses big data and artificial intelligence to support early warning research of harmful blue-green algae.
