Leaders from peer institutions seek input about Dartmouth's progress toward goals.
A group of senior leaders from peer institutions will visit the College next month as part of the second phase of Dartmouth's reaccreditation, which is reviewed every 10 years by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE).
With the first phase, an internal self-study, now complete, the next step is an on-site evaluation by the commission's evaluation team.
During the campus visit, scheduled for Oct. 27-30, there will be three open forums: one each for students, faculty, and staff. The forums will provide opportunities to engage in dialogue with the NECHE visitors about the information shared in the self-study report.
"Reaccreditation is an invaluable opportunity for us to reflect on our progress on our strategic goals and our commitment to our mission and purpose," President Philip J. Hanlon '77 said in an email today to faculty, students, and staff. "It's also a chance to shine light on areas that may need more attention, get objective insights from our peer institutions, and look ahead to what we want to accomplish in the future."
President Hanlon invites all Dartmouth community members to read the self-study and attend one of the three forums:
All forums will be held in the Paganucci Lounge in the Class of 1953 Commons.
The public is invited to submit comments regarding Dartmouth in writing by mail or email to:
