Video: Dartmouth Students Size Up Potential Presidents

Every four years, Dartmouth students get an early look at the field of Republican and Democratic candidates for president in the run-up to the New Hampshire primary.

This year, most of the candidates made at least one stop in Hanover—some were here multiple times—to hold town hall meetings, make media appearances, participate in College forums, or just take some students to dinner.

Election season offers the College community an unparalleled opportunity to participate in retail politics and serves as an extension of the classroom, says Ronald Shaiko, senior fellow and associate director for curricular and research programs at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy. This video offers a quick scan of the boisterous political atmosphere leading up to the Feb. 9 primary vote.
