Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty members weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted“:

“Iraq’s rich cultural heritage dates back 8,000 years. It was tragic to see that venerable legacy destroyed during the 2003 Iraq war, and doubly tragic to watch the destruction repeat itself now,” says Professor Susan Ackerman, commenting on Sunni extremists’ recent destruction of historic sites.

Ackerman is the Preston H. Kelsey Professor of Religion.
