Federal officials have notified the College that they will begin a program review to evaluate Dartmouth’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). A U.S. Department of Education review team will begin its work on August 18.

The review was triggered by allegations in May 2013 that the College had violated several provisions of the Clery Act.

“Dartmouth is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community,” says Tommy Bruce, senior vice president for public affairs. “We will assist the federal authorities in this important work and maintain transparency in these proceedings. We are optimistic that the review team will find that our strengthened policies are aligned with Clery Act best practices.”
