Since assuming the presidency of Dartmouth on July 1, Carol L. Folt has been a constant presence on campus, and has also represented Dartmouth in a number of other settings.
Whether she was announcing the start of the Year of the Arts, welcoming first-year students at Moosilauke Ravine Lodge and in her office, or speaking at Convocation, President Folt has made it apparent that she has ambitious goals for this year—and for Dartmouth.
“I love the dynamic nature of our campus. We are at a pivotal time in our history and new possibilities arise every day,” says Folt. “Students, faculty, and staff all fuel this world of creativity and discovery. My job is to help them achieve their ambitions to make a difference in the world. Our community has enriched my life and I want all our students, faculty, and staff to feel that same sense of enrichment.”

olt is also taking Dartmouth on the road. In July, she addressed the Learning Collaborative On High-Risk Drinking in Washington, D.C. This fall, she will make trips to Kosovo and Japan, and also to China, where she will celebrate 30 years of partnership between Dartmouth and Beijing Normal University.
