The show pairing the two artists’ work was organized in conjunction with the Hood Museum of Art, where the exhibit appeared this spring. The Pollock pieces are from the artist’s early years, and show the influence of Orozco and his peers.

The Orozco works in the show are all studies or drawings he made for the Dartmouth fresco The Epic of American Civilization, Orozco’s 24-panel mural at Baker-Berry Library. “One of the most extraordinary Orozco images in the show,” says the reviewer, “comes from a later section of the fresco.”

The Orozco Room in Baker-Berry Library will reopen in September after the mural’s renovation this summer.
