‘Let’s Dance All Day Today’ (Valley News)

The 40th Annual Dartmouth Pow-Wow, held on the Dartmouth Green on May 12 and 13, honored and celebrated Native culture through traditional dancing, singing, food, and crafts.

According to a Valley News feature, approximately 300 competitors participated in the weekend’s events, which included a number of different dance competitions. The annual event drew participants and on-lookers from across the Northeast, the Valley News noted. One of the Pow-Wow participants was Dartmouth alumna Daryl Concha ’11, who traveled from New York City to attend.  While a student at Dartmouth, Concha told the Valley News, she danced in every Pow-Wow. “I come from a powwow family,” she said.
