In Rice, How Much Arsenic Is Too Much? (NPR)

In continuing coverage of Dartmouth research that revealed high levels of arsenic in foods sweetened with organic brown rice syrup, NPR checks in with other scientists and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Research, regulations, and recommendations from other countries, including China, the U.K., and Spain, all points towards the value of setting limits for arsenic in food.

The FDA, NPR reports, began testing the levels of inorganic arsenic in rice and rice products last year; results are expected to be available this spring.
