Up to 400,000 Troops Required In Case of N. Korean Regime Collapse: US Research (Arirang TV)

South Korean broadcaster Arirang TV reported this week on a study co-authored by Assistant Professor of Government Jennifer Lind.

The study found that up to 400,000 troops would be needed to stabilize North Korea if Kim Jong-il’s regime fell.

Bruce Bennett from the RAND Corporation co-authored the study, which was published in the journal International Security.

In the study, Lind and Bennett warn that nations such as the United States, South Korea, and China must work together to prepare for the possibility of such an event.
