“Faculty Chalk Talk” Series Returns September 17

Dartmouth Office of Alumni Relations is once again sponsoring a “Faculty Chalk Talk” lecture series this fall.

The series brings leading Dartmouth faculty members to speak on the mornings of home football games. This year’s topic is “Election Issues 2012: Hot Topics in National Politics.”

The series kicks off on Saturday, September 17, before the Big Green takes on Colgate. Tuck School of Business Professor Matthew Slaughter will give the first talk, which is entitled “In the Wake of the Financial Crisis, What Next?” All the talks take place in Dartmouth Hall, room 105, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The other lectures in the series are:

October 1: Dartmouth vs. Penn “Moral Authority: What Should America’s Political Leaders Be Willing to Do?” Lucas Swaine, Associate Professor of Government

October 22: Dartmouth vs. Columbia – Homecoming “Foreign Policy Tradeoffs in an Age of Austerity” Daryl Press, Associate Professor of Government

November 5: Dartmouth vs. Cornell “Who Can Fix Health Care?” Albert Mulley Jr. ’70, MD, MPP, Director, Dartmouth Center for Health Care Delivery Science

November 19:  Dartmouth vs. Princeton “Why Worry about Carbon Emissions?” Andrew Friedland, Professor of Environmental Studies and the Richard and Jane Pearl Professor in Environmental Studies
