David Seaman, associate librarian for information management at the Dartmouth College Library, is the author of a new paper. “Discovering the Information Needs of Humanists When Planning an Institutional Repository” was published in the March/April 2011 issue of D-Lib Magazine, an electronic publication with a focus on digital library research and development.

Institutional repositories (IRs) “safeguard and share digital content created by faculty and staff.” Seaman’s research suggests that IRs can benefit the teaching, collaboration, and publishing of humanities faculty, if the repositories are consciously designed with humanists’ needs and concerns in mind.
