Searching for Fundi and Studying the Three-Stone Stove in Kalinzi (Scientific American)

Students from Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering are working in Tanzania to help improve sanitation and energy technologies in local villages. The student-led group, known as Humanitarian Engineering Leadership Projects (HELP), is filing dispatches from the field during their trip. In this post, the group's sixth for the Scientific American “Expeditions” blog, Parker Reed ’09, Ryan Birjoo ’11 and Tim Bolger ’09 discuss a stove they designed that burns coffee husks.
