Professor of Economics David Blanchflower is guest-host of CNBC’s flagship morning program Squawk Box on Thursday, July 15, from 7 to 9 a.m.

His guest list includes Bruce Rauner ’78, who is principal and chairman of GTCR Golder Rauner, a private equity investment firm based out of Chicago. Blanchflower is the holder of the Bruce V. Rauner endowed professorship at Dartmouth.

Blanchflower is also speaking with Alistair Darling, a British Labour Party politician who has been a Member of Parliament (MP) since 1987 and served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2007 to 2010. He played a key role in the rescue of several British banks including Northern Rock and Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds. He is currently Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

“This is very exciting, and I am looking forward to playing interviewer instead of interviewee!” says Blanchflower.

Blanchflower is a labor economist who recently completed a three-year term as a member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, which sets interest rates for the United Kingdom. He is also the economics columnist of the New Statesman and is a columnist at Bloomberg.
