She was a prolific self-portraitist, using the canvas as a mirror through all stages of her turbulent and, at times, tragic life. Still, guided by interviews, commentary and Frida's own words, Exhibition on Screen uncovers that hers was not a life defined by tragedy. Featuring key exhibitions and interviews with world-renowned Kahlo curators, the film explores the extraordinary symbolism and themes in these personal canvases to seek a deeper understanding of the real Frida Kahlo, while also examining her place in the canon of great artists.

All Hop films are now presented virtually and on demand through Eventive. Once you rent the film, you will have until March 10, 2021 to watch it.  Free for Dartmouth students and Hop members, but registration is required.  Log in and register here
