James Baehr ’05 served as a Special Asst. to the Pres. in the Domestic Policy Council in the White House as the lead policy advisor on Veterans’ issues. He chaired Policy Coordinating Committees; drafted and edited executive orders, proclamations, reports, and policy documents (including the President’s plan to end Veteran suicide) and worked with Veterans’ Affairs Committees to pass legislation (including the Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act).

Baehr serves as a Major in the Marine Corps Reserves. In 2018, he activated & deployed to the Middle East for Operation Inherent Resolve, serving on the Command Staff as the Chief of the Joint Visitor’s Bureau, where he helped coordinate over 140 strategic messaging trips for key leaders to Iraq, Kuwait, & Syria on the campaign against ISIS. He previously led civil affairs teams on missions in Norway & the Dominican Republic.

Baehr served as fed. prosecutor at the U.S. Atty.’s Office in New Orleans, a circuit court clerk on Fifth Circuit, and as an active-duty Marine judge advocate.

Baehr received his J.D. and Masters in History from UVA. He graduated from Dartmouth with honors in Hist. and Govt.

Amanda Brown Lierman ’07 is the Managing Dir. for Supermajority, an org. building a women’s movement that is inclusive, multi-generational, and power-building. She served as the Dem. Natl. Comm.’s Political and Organizing Dir. during the 2018 midterm election. Prior to that role, Amanda was the Campaign Dir. for For Our Future Action Fund and For Our Future, an allied c4 and super PAC focused on progressive issues and winning elections.

Amanda worked on the Obama campaign and Admin., first on the President’s Transition Team and the Presidential Inaugural Comm., as the Asst. to the Dir. in the White House Office of Pol. Affairs, and finally as the Adv. for Strategic Planning at the U.S. Dept. of Energy. Amanda left in 2011 to join Rock the Vote, a national nonpartisan org. with a mission to engage & empower young people to participate in our country’s political process. As the Natl. Political Dir., she oversaw the organization’s civic engagement programming during the 2012 presidential election, led a national advocacy & public awareness campaign for voter registration modernization, and managed the maintenance and development of Rock the Vote's online voter registration tool. Amanda served as the Exec. Dir. of the Natl. Women's Bus. Council, an independent advisor to the President, Congress, and Small Bus. Admin. on issues of impact & importance to women entrepreneurs.

Janos Marton ’04 is the Natl. Dir. of Dream Corps JUSTICE. A born and raised New Yorker, Janos attended Dartmouth, where he served as Student Body Pres. and lived in Panarchy. After college he worked as an organizer across the country before returning home to attend Fordham Law School. As a civil rights attorney, Janos held police officers accountable, investigated public corruption, and defended the right to protest. In 2016 he launched the successful campaign to close Rikers Island. He has run criminal justice campaigns across the country, first for JustLeadershipUSA, and then the ACLU. In 2020 he ran for Manhattan DA on a bold decarceration platform that became the gold standard in the race. Today he leads a team at Dream Corps focused on closing prison doors and opening doors of opportunity.
