Hop to Broadway is hosted by the Hop's—and Broadway's—John Heginbotham (Dartmouth Dance Ensemble, Dance Heginbotham and the 2019 Tony Award-winning Oklahoma! )Episode 1 rebroadcasts John's conversation with Rachel Chavkin filmed last fall when Chavkin was in residence at Dartmouth with her devised-theater company the TEAM.

Chavkin won a "best direction" Tony for Hadestown and was nominated for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. She also is founding Artistic Director of Brooklyn-based company the TEAM, whose work also has been seen in the U.K.'s National Theatre, Royal Court, Old Vic, and beyond.  

 

Chavkin is a recipient of a Tony award for Best Direction as well as an additional Tony nomination, three Obie Awards, a Drama Desk Award, multiple Lortel nominations, two Doris Duke Impact Award nominations, and the 2017 Smithsonian Award for Ingenuity along with Dave Malloy.
