SAS is one of the most popular and powerful statistical software packages used worldwide and is developed by SAS Institute for data management, advanced analytics, business intelligence, etc. This session will serve as a starting point for you to learn about SAS. You’ll learn the basics of SAS syntax, including (but not limited to) data step, commonly used procedures, how to get descriptive statistics, how to run simple hypothesis tests, and linear regression, etc. You will learn how to run SAS on one or more of different platforms: PC, Virtual Box , and Linux Server.

During this session, you’ll also learn from experienced librarians how to find data sets you need for your research, term projects, and theses, and from a research software engineer how to run SAS on an HPC environment.
