Dartmouth will be hosting an event on the Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier on October 10th from 9:00-4:30 pm. The event will be co-sponsored by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations and the Neukom Institute.

The Future of Work is one of the NSF’s Ten Big Ideas, in which NSF will invest $30 million each. Several organizations, including NSF, US Navy, NH Division of Economic Development, Intel, Samsung NEXT, Hypertherm, and faculty will be speaking.

The Future of Work is focused on “understanding how constantly evolving technologies are actively shaping the lives of workers and how people in turn can shape those technologies, especially in the world of work.” The topic is meant to spur basic and applied research on the interaction of humans, society, and technology that will help shape the future of work to increase opportunities for workers and productivity for the economy.

We aim to bring together Dartmouth faculty, companies, and government representatives to discuss these key issues, with the ultimate goal of developing symbiotic partnerships and mapping future directions in the field.
