The South-South Forum is pleased to host a luncheon seminar with Prof. Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh. Elena's research focuses on the intersections between gender, generation and religion in experiences of and responses to conflict-induced displacement, with a particular regional focus on the Middle East. She has conducted extensive research in refugee camps and urban areas including in Algeria, Cuba, Egypt, France, Jordan, Lebanon, South Africa, Syria, Sweden, and the UK. She will be presenting her talk titled, "Southern-Led Responses to Displacement" and will discuss the refugee camps in Lebanon as well as other locations in the Middle East.

Professor Fiddian-Qasmiyeh is professor and chair of Migration and Refugee Studies, Department of Geography, University College London. She is also Co-Director of the Migration Research Unit and Coordinator of UCL’s Refuge in a Moving World Research Network. She is the co-editor of Migration and Society journal.

This seminar is open to the Dartmouth community. Lunch will start at 12:00pm and will be catered by King Arthur Flour.
