Inspired by the true story of the biggest heist in Mexico’s history, this stylish caper is about so much more than the “job” itself. Two slackers (Gael Garcia Bernal, Leonardo Ortizgris) pull themselves away from video games long enough to hatch a scheme—a Christmas Eve museum heist to remove priceless ancient Mexican artifacts. They pull off a flawless robbery—unbelievable for a couple of amateurs—but now that they’ve got the goods … what next?

With mischief and melancholy in equal measure, this “irresistibly inventive and unusually intelligent tall tale” (Variety) ruminates on art, its self-appointed keepers, and the true ownership of priceless treasures.
