Venezuela has been in systemic crisis---political, economic, and humanitarian---for some years. When Juan Guaidó gained broad international recognition as Interim President late last month, without the incumbent Nicolás Maduro stepping down, that crisis came to a head. What is going on there and how can we make sense of it? Peter DeShazo ('69) spent much of his career as a Foreign Service officer assigned to Latin America. He will discuss the situation at a PEP Monday night dinner on Feb. 25 at 6 pm in Rocky 2.
