Free advance screening, no tickets required. Admission is first come, first served.

Based on a true story, this thoughtful crowd-pleaser takes its title from an indispensable guide for black motorists traveling through the Jim Crow South. With a “green book” in hand, world-class black pianist Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) hires an uncouth Bronx-born bouncer (Viggo Mortensen) to chauffeur him safely from Manhattan to New Orleans. An unlikely friendship forms as these two very different men encounter conflict and prejudice on their journey, along with unexpected humanity and humor.

With a soundtrack ranging from classical piano to Chubby Checker, this feel-good period dramedy is a perfect showcase for magnetic performances by Mortensen (who gained 30 pounds for a rare comic role) and Ali (whose musical skills are a marvel to behold)
