Meet Patriot, Potomac, Primrose, Poppet, and Phil—five spirited puppies who, from the moment they’re born, are in the running for a vitally important, life-changing job: becoming guide dogs for the blind. This heartwarming documentary follows the pups through a rigorous two-year journey from the care of selfless foster volunteers to specialized trainers to, if they make the cut, a lifelong human companion.

At every step of the way, the puppies will be tested, challenged, and evaluated before they are paired with one of the 500 applicants seeking their assistance, including Janet, waiting for her fourth dog, and Ron, waiting for his first. Only the best of the best will be chosen for the job of guide dog—who has what it takes?
