Cecilia Menjívar, Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Kansas University and future faculty at UCLA

 

Her talk will address the role of the media in violence against immigrants, and will focus not only on the immigrants but on the white non-immigrant rural residents because they are affected by these laws too.

 

 

**Cecilia is not only the foremost scholar on Central American immigrants today, but she is also mother to a Dartmouth senior about to graduate.
