Julie Hruby is an Assistant Professor of Classics at Dartmouth College, where she teaches Greek archaeology. She received a PhD in Aegean prehistory and an MA in Classical archaeology from the University of Cincinnati, and a BA in Classical studies, Classical languages, and art history from Duke University. She recently co-edited a volume on Late Bronze Age Aegean cooking pottery and is nearly finished writing a monograph on the pantries at the Mycenaean Palace of Nestor at Pylos. Her longstanding academic passion, however, is for using archaeological fingerprints to answer questions about ancient labor practice.
