Abstract: Processes where a heavier quark decays to a lighter quark with the same charge are very rare in the standard model of particle physics. As such they constitute ideal tests of the standard model - even feeble changes to the interactions due to new physics contributions can become visible. I will give an overview of the experiments that are measuring such rare processes. Finally, I will cover the intriguing results that are hinting to nonstandard effects and their theoretical interpretations.
