In recent decades, scientific evidence has mounted that human activities have become planetary forces putting the Earth’s systems under pressure. Bertrand Guillaume will discuss some ethical and metaphysical issues regarding the extent of such power. Considering echoes from the past and prospects for the future, he ultimately suggests responsibility as a way out of nihilism.
