Surgeon Atul Gawande, author of Being Mortal, collaborated with Frontline for this documentary on the relationships between doctors and patients nearing the end of life. Genie Shields and Dr. Kathryn Kirkland will answer questions following the film.

Genie and her late husband Jeff graciously participated in the making of the documentary. She is an author and Life Member at Clare Hall, Cambridge University.

Dr. Kirkland is section chief of palliative medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and holds the Dorothy and John J. Byrne, Jr., Distinguished Chair in Palliative Medicine at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine.
