Giacomo Puccini

Rivaling the splendor of Franco Zeffirelli’s Napoleonic-era sets and costumes, Sir David McVicar’s ravishing new production offers a splendid backdrop for extraordinary singing. Sonya Yoncheva will make her role debut in this new production replacing Kristine Opolais, who has withdrawn for personal reasons. Yoncheva stars as the title prima donna alongside Vittorio Grigolo as her revolutionary artist lover and Željko Lučić as the depraved police chief Scarpia. Emmanuel Villaume conducts. 3h 18m
