Join us for an intro lesson and dance party with Faye Grearson on the Maffei Plaza after the film!

Offering likeable characters and some killer footage of couples throwing each other around at high speed, this exhilarating doc provides an intimate, insider's view into the culture of the current swing dance world. The film celebrates the rich history of swing music, but mostly focuses on its new, passionate devotees. These young enthusiasts rhapsodize about the power of this improvised, intimate dance form as a means of forming instant connections with strangers: a “three-minute romance” that acts as a remedy for information-age isolation. Regardless of the challenges these dancers face, from job loss to PTSD, they all find tremendous joy on the dance floor. D: Susan Glatzer, US, 2017, 1h 28m
