Discussion follows.

A film continues even after the final credits have rolled–when people talk about it and discuss it. With this essay film Dominik Graf creates a very personal homage to his friend, renowned film critic Michael Althen (1962–2011), who wrote his first film review age 19. Althen not only had a great passion for and knowledge of film, he also and most importantly had an absolutely delightful way of writing about it. The film is an innovative montage (by Thomas Streck) incorporating photos and film clips, interviews with Althen and—thankfully long and well-narrated—excerpts from his insightful reviews. D: Dominik Graf, Germany, subtitled, 2h

Programmed in conjunction with an Interdisciplinary Conference "A Century of Filmkritik and Beyond"  sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, the Leslie Center for the Humanities and the Max Kade Foundation.

These free, unticketed screenings are open to the public.
