Nicholas Stargardt, Professor of History at Oxford University, has spent his career examining the lived experiences of war-torn Germany under the National Socialist rule.  His research has encompassed the experiences of children during that period, as well as the everyday lives of citizens whose decisions shaped two generations of Germans.  Professor Stargardt examines the lives of individuals to understand a society.
