Mack the Knife is back in town.

Offering a Socialist critique of the capitalist world, this epic theater piece is also an early example of modern musical comedy. It has been translated into 18 languages and performed more than 10,000 times. This darkly comic new take on Brecht and Weill’s raucous musical opens with London scrubbing up for the coronation. The thieves are on the make, the whores on the pull, the police cutting deals to keep it all out of sight. Mr. and Mrs. Peachum are looking forward to a bumper day in the beggary business, but their daughter didn’t come home last night and it’s all about to kick off…With Rory Kinnear (Othello) as the gangster Macheath alongside Rosalie Craig (As You Like It) as his new moll Polly Peachum, director Rufus Norris’ (Everyman) bold, anarchic production is a “snarling, sexy beast of a show” (Independent). 160m
