Medicine Grand Rounds on Friday, August 12, 2016 for the presentation titled:

“The Opioid Crisis: A Primary Care Perspective”

Co-Sponsored by the Section of Hospital Medicine and the Department of Medicine
The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Objectives – Participants will be able to:

1. Improving understanding of the origin, current state, and future of the opioid crisis
2. Recognize the challenges facing primary and other care providers around issues of substance misuse and addiction
3. Identify areas for improvement in the treatment and management of chronic pain.

Abigail Zavod attended Brown University and Tufts University School of Medicine, where she received her Medical Degree and Masters of Public Health. She trained in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and has practiced in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She maintains an active clinical practice and is the student/resident teaching coordinator for Geisel Medical Students and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Internal Medicine Residents in Nashua. She is a member of the New Hampshire Board of Medicine Opioid Task Force and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Opioid Task Force.
