“Warmth, wit, a beautiful tone and technical prowess second to none.” NPR

Wallin  New quartet
Folk music from the Nordic countries
Beethoven  String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59 No. 2, ‘Razumovsky’

“Impassioned, precise and brilliant” (Boston Globe), the DSQ brings youthful imagination and superb craft to such mainstays as Beethoven’s bracing, soulful E-minor quartet. These three Danes and one Norwegian, whose friendship began in pre-teen summer music camp, also capture the sound of Scandinavia in works by contemporary composers like Rolf Wallin, and in luscious arrangements of sprightly, keening folk tunes from their homelands.

Funded in part by the Frank L. Harrington 1924 Fund No. 3.
