Objectives – Participants will be able to:
1) Develop a greater appreciation of how human disease models can be used to identify new genes that cause disease.
2) Recognize how these new genes can be used in a diagnostic fashion for potential of planning therapy and guiding genetic counseling in families.
3) Describe how these new genes can provide fundamental insights into the developmental biology of organ systems that could not be obtained by other avenues of scientific inquiry.
