University of Paris VIII, co-founder of the Journal of Early American History

 

Dr. Bertrand Van Ruymbeke is professor of American history at the Université de Paris 8. He is specialized in pre-industrial America, focusing more specifically on the British colonies in North America, their relationships to the Empire and the way their population developed from a social and religious point of view. He is also interested in francophone migrations (Huguenots, Acadians and refugees from St-Domingue) towards colonial America and the United States.
