Wes Anderson’s debut feature is a bright, optimistic caper about a group of hapless Texans aspiring to become master thieves. Their leader Dignan (Owen Wilson, who also co-wrote the screenplay) is an upbeat if naive charmer who convinces his friends (including brother Luke Wilson) to enter the crime business. After their first heist, a bizarrely-executed robbery of a local bookstore, the trio fatefully joins forces with a seasoned crime boss (James Caan). T-R-O-U-B-L-E!  D: Wes Anderson, US, 1996, 91m
