Paul Barr, PhD MSc PH, Postdoctoral Fellow at The Dartmouth Center for Health Care Delivery Science

Candidate for faculty position in TDI/TDC

 

Summary: Paul is a health services researcher who for the last decade has been involved in a range of health care projects, all with a common underlying theme -­ to improve clinical practice at the point of delivery. Within this broad field, Paul has focused on identifying variations in health care delivery, appraising the quality of care delivered and engaging patients as equals in medical encounters through shared decision making, using a toolbox of quantitative and qualitative methods. During this presentation Paul will describe his research experiences in Ireland, his current research developing measures, interventions and implementation strategies to improve patient engagement and his future research agenda in the field of patient engagement, aligning with the strategic goals of TDI.
