Kenneth Branagh has long been lauded as one of the great Shakespearean interpreters. His skills as a writer, director and actor have garnered international acclaim across the disciplines of stage, film and television, and he is the only man to be nominated in five different categories for an Academy Award.

Branagh returns now to the stage as the power-mad murderous Scot—his first Shakespeare performance after more than a decade. Macbeth premiered at the Manchester International Festival last July, where it was mounted to great acclaim in a de-consecrated Romanesque church, the audience seated right up close in long pews. Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, ER) co-stars as Lady Macbeth in this tragic tale of ambition and treachery.
