In 1932, Mexican artist José Clemente Orozco was invited to Dartmouth as an artist-in-residence to demonstrate fresco painting technique. He subsequently stayed in Hanover for two years and painted an ambitious mural in the brand-new Baker Library entitled The Epic of American Civilization. Come and explore this mural-now recognized as a national landmark-and learn techniques for interpreting and appreciating any work of art. The workshop will be discussion-based and participatory.
