Kevin Figgins Jr., a member of the class of 2016 who was completing his undergraduate degree, died unexpectedly in his hometown of Nashville, Tenn., on Dec. 2.

After the college expressed its sympathy and support to the Figgins family, President Philip J. Hanlon ’77 shared the tragic news with the College community in a campus-wide email sent out today.

A funeral for Figgins will be held on Dec. 15 at the Anointed Life Fellowship Church in Nashville.

Kevin Figgins was an environmental studies and psychology double major. He was involved in a variety of activities, including the FYSEP program, and sang with the Dartmouth College Gospel Choir and the Christian a cappella group X.ado.

“We have been in touch with Kevin’s family to convey our deepest sympathy,” President Hanlon wrote in his email message. “When students return for winter term, we will let you know about plans to honor Kevin’s memory.”
