For the past 32 years, the Prouty has raised funds to support cancer research and patient services at Dartmouth’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center. The signature event of The Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the Prouty has grown from a 100-mile bike ride by four nurses in 1982 to an event that now includes thousands of participants who choose to cycle, walk, row or golf to help in the fight against cancer.

In 2013, 5,600 Prouty participants raised more than $2.7 million. This year, the 33rd Annual Prouty hopes to raise $3 million.

At a Prouty kickoff party at the Hanover Inn in May, the new Prouty anthem, I Am More, written and directed by Dartmouth College Gospel Choir Director Walter Cunningham Jr., helped inspire this year’s volunteers and participants as they prepared for the event, which takes place on Saturday, July 12.
