Since the late 1960s, TV Globo has been the dominant media presence in Brazil. However, beginning in 2011, the Brazilian mediascape entered the Pay-TV Law Era, resulting in a broad diversification that has challenged TV Globo’s hold over the symbolic representation of the nation.
