Bacteria and viruses employ a wide array of mechanisms and complex protein machines to infect cells and evade the host’s immune response. Understanding the structure, function and regulation of proteins involved in pathogenesis is critical if we are to develop strategies to combat microbial infections. Join us at the Life Sciences Symposium to learn about a number of approaches being taken to investigate the molecular mechanisms of host–pathogen interactions and how these findings are being used to combat infectious diseases.

Admission is free. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. We welcome the attendance of all faculty, physicians, researchers, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students from Dartmouth and other universities and institutes across New England. Interested community members are also welcome.
