Open-call auditions for the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble will be held September 9 and 10 in Hartman Rehearsal Hall, basement level of the Hopkins Center. The DCWE is open to all students of Dartmouth College, from all majors, including graduate and medical school students, as well as faculty. WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THIS AUDITION?
- One solo selection or study etude of your choice that best displays your current playing ability -- at least 4 minutes of music
- All major scales and a chromatic scale through the complete range of your instrument
- Sight-reading will also be included on all auditions
- Percussionists: please prepare samples of your playing on at least two instruments highlighting your strongest skills in the percussion section. No scales will be required, but sight-reading on a variety of instruments will be requested.
